The Broncos Vipiteno confirm four local defenders

Simon Bauer , born in 1989, is now entering his ninth season with the Broncos and can look back on a so-called career year. With 19 points in 38 regular-season games, he achieved his best result ever and topped his previous record of 17 points, which came from the 2012-13 season in the second division. In the past season, “Guido” impressed above all with his consistent and very reliable play, which is why those responsible can expect a lot from the physically strong left-handed shooter this season. The one who is a year younger Fabian Hackhofer had to deal with a serious injury for the second time in a row last season. In 2013/14, a broken wrist put him out of action for eight weeks and in the game against Ritten on October 9th in the Weihenstephan Arena he crashed into the boards so badly that he tore his cruciate ligament. Thanks to a custom-made special splint and his iron will, he was able to return to the ice just one month later and played an impressive season in which he also achieved a career high in senior hockey with 19 points in 32 games. “Hacky” underwent the inevitable surgical procedure at the beginning of April and is currently in advanced training. The healing process is going very well, so it is very likely that he will be there from the first competitive game. Daniel Mafia, Born in 1993 and therefore the youngest in this quartet, he is now entering his fourth season with the Broncos' senior team after returning from his stint in Füssen in the DNL. “Maffo” also looks back on a very good year and mostly played with Matti Näätänen in the first defensive block under coach Kammerer. Due to his partner's offensive style of play, the reliable two-way defender was primarily tasked with defensive tasks, which he always completed to the fullest satisfaction and was able to record 35 assists in 8 games during the regular season. If he can deliver the performances he has shown this year, the Leifer native with Wipptal ice hockey blood will once again play an important role in the team. In alphabetical order, the last person in the league is the captain Philipp Pircher . The 27-year-old from Brixen has been an integral part of the Broncos senior team for nine seasons now and has also been their captain for the last three seasons. The 181 cm tall and 84 kg defensive specialist will play his 400th game in the blue and white jersey this fall and is an integral part of the Broncos' backline as a reliable team player.
