The Foxes are biting on granite with the Capitals

The HCB was faced with a mammoth task, because the Capitals are the measure of all things in the EBEL. In the first third, the Foxes were able to keep up well and showed no respect for the Viennese superiority. On the contrary: with 7:11 shots on goal, Bolzano was the dominant team at the start of the game.

After the first break, the Capitals acted more offensively, Bozen held on and Dominic Monardo scored the lead in the power play, the wonderful cross pass came from Chris de Sousa. However, the lead didn't last long, in the 28th minute Ryan Connor McKiernan equalized to make it 1-1. In the 31st minute, shortly after the end of a power play, there was a poke in front of the Capitals' goal. Michael Angelidis dived and pushed the puck into the opponent's goal to make it 1:2. For the second time when they were behind, the Capitals increased the number of hits, in the 38th minute the league leaders outplayed the Foxes' defense and Rafael Rotter equalized to make it 2-2.

While the people of Bolzano tried their luck on the counterattack, the offensive spectacle of the Viennese continued in the final third. Jamie Fraser gave the Capitals the lead for the first time in the 46th minute, and the goalscorer to make it 2-2, Rafael Rotter, did the preparatory work. Two and a half minutes before the final siren, the HCB put everything on one card and took out the goalie. However, the six outfield players failed to score the equalizer and the Capitals won 3-2 at home. It was the Foxes' second defeat in a row.

The HCB had to play against the Vienna Capitals on Friday evening. After a fighting game and a two-time lead against the league leaders, the Foxes still suffered a 3-2 defeat in the Albert-Schultz-Halle.
