The Foxes bite

The match started with a failed debut for new goalkeeper Matt Climie. The Foxes fell behind after just 49 seconds, Dan DaSilva scored to make it 0-1. The guests from Upper Austria were the sole entertainers in the first third with 13 shots on goal.

In the middle third the scene from the first third was repeated: Jonathan D'Aversa directed the puck to Dan DaSilva and he scored to make it 0-2. This goal was the wake-up call for the Foxes, two minutes later Travis Oleksuk made it 1-2 and immediately afterwards Michael Angelidis made it 2-2 after an assist from Michele Marchetti. The game got tougher and the home team finally took a 3-2 lead on the power play, with Christopher DeSousa scoring the goal.

The Foxes had now definitely switched to attack and were clearly the superior team. In the final third there was no sign of the White Reds' initial uncertainty and Travis Oleksuk scored his second goal to make the final score 4-2.

HCB goalie Matt Climie was honored at his debut in the Foxes jersey, and the Canadian was named player of the evening. The “working win” against second-placed Linz should now give the HCB self-confidence for the next game on Saturday against bottom team Fehervar.

The Foxes bite

HCB Südtirol is gaining some distance from the bottom of the table. In the Bolzano ice wave, the Foxes turned the game against Linz. On Tuesday evening, the HCB celebrated a 3020-4 home win in front of 2 spectators.
