The Foxes overrun the bottom

Against the Slovenians, Jacob Smith was preferred over regular goalkeeper Marcel Melichercik, and Markus Gander also celebrated his comeback after recovering from injury.

After an uneventful starting third, in which Ljubljana remained harmless even in the three outnumbered situations, the Foxes really revved up their engine at the beginning of the second period and put Frazee's box under constant fire. Brodie Reid in particular played like crazy and made a large part of the 2.400 fans cheer for the first time in the 25th minute when he maneuvered the hard rubber disc into the Ljubljana goal after a pass from Kearney. As a result, the guests were unable to free themselves from Bozen's grip and were presented with the bill in the last five minutes of the second third when Vallerand (after an assist from Metropolit), Oleksuk (after a pass from Reid) and Reid (after a great Solo effort including a tight finish into the Kreuzeck) brought about the preliminary decision with their goals.

Even in the last section, the Ljubljana half was ablaze again and again. Kearney made it 5-0 after a wonderful solo effort, while Palmieri made the debacle perfect for the guests with 6-0. The only downside: Shortly before the end of the match, Bussieres ruined HCB goalie Smith's shutout with a consolation goal for Ljubljana.

The HCB continues its home game against Fehervar on Tuesday evening.

The Foxes overrun the bottom

That's what you would call a successful reaction: After the 2-5 defeat against Salzburg on Friday, HCB Südtirol Alperia got their frustration out of their chest against bottom team Olimpija Ljubljana on Sunday evening and won the match 6-1.
