At the start of the tournament, Augsburg and Klagenfurt played their first match of the current season preparation. However, the encounter in the first third was by no means a test match, as both teams set a very high pace from the start. KAC warhorse Jamie Lundmark fired the first warning shot, then the Panthers got into the game better - and were promptly rewarded in the 11th minute: Thomas Holzmann sent the hard rubber disc into the top corner with a blueliner. However, this phase of pressure from Augsburg subsided and the KAC became bolder as time went on. With a double majority, Manuel Geier finally scored to make it 16-1 in the 1th minute. He gave Panther goalie Jonathan Boutin no chance from close range. A little later, Ben Hanowski tried a solo on the other side, but nothing changed at halftime. After the first break the game became even rougher. But in addition to numerous tough performances, the spectators were also treated to moves worth seeing. For example, in the 27th minute when Scott Valentine spectacularly served Michael Davis and he scored with a backhander to give Augsburg the lead again. After that, Bayern never let go of the scepter and created a number of scoring opportunities, inspired by several outnumbered situations. However, Tomas Duba in the Klagenfurt goal held tight. At the beginning of the final third, however, the Czech goalkeeper, who is by no means unknown in South Tyrol due to his past in Bolzano, was also powerless. Ben Hanowski lost out for the third time in the 43rd minute. Augsburg then managed the two-goal lead with skill. Klagenfurt tried to establish themselves in the opponent's third, but had no luck in this attempt - also because the Rothosen repeatedly weakened themselves through penalties. The Panthers finally used one of these power plays to make it 4-1 through Drew Leblanc. This was the final point of the game, as both teams stayed away from the goals for the remaining two minutes.

Nuremberg and Brno will determine the second finalist In the final on Sunday, the Augsburger Panthers will meet either the Nürnberg Ice Tigers or Kometa Brno, who will continue the program of the 11th DolomitenCup with the second semi-final duel. The game starts on Saturday at 20 p.m.
