The Rittner Buam have to give way to Innsbruck

After the 4:4 draw last week in the charity game against league rivals Val Gardena, the Rittner Buam had their first real test on the agenda with the duel against the EBEL representative from North Tyrol. Borgatello and Co. mastered this with flying colors over long stretches.

The party was balanced for a long time. In the 23rd minute it was the guests who took the lead through new signing Mario Lamoureux, but Markus Spinell had the right answer ready at the beginning of the final third. After a pass from Alex Frei and Dan Tudin, he scored to make it 1-1. Afterwards, an exciting showdown developed, in which the HCI set the decisive tone. For example, in the 48th minute, when Hunter Bishop gave up the new Rittner goalie Patrick Killeen for the second time. The decision was finally made ten minutes before the end: Andrew Clark pushed the disc over the line to make it 3-1 and thus ensure the final point of the game.

After this second test match, Ritten coach Riku Lehtonen will tighten the reins in training again in the coming days before the next form test is scheduled for next Sunday against DEL2 club Rosenheim. The game in the Ritten Arena starts at 18 p.m.

The reigning Italian champions suffered their first friendly defeat of the current preparatory phase on Tuesday evening. In the Arena Ritten, the Lehtonen team lost 1:3 to the traditional Austrian club HC Innsbruck.
