As expected, the Wolves started like the fire department in front of 2010 spectators and had good chances in the first few minutes. However, Johnson and Hofer got stuck on the edge of the goal (2nd), before Hofer smashed the puck onto the crossbar shortly afterwards (5th). The Rittner Buam played very cautiously and only got going very slowly. Kostner had the best chance for the Buam, but Weiman went above and beyond with his shot (12th). Just two minutes later, Frei could have made it 1-0 for the guests, but the Wolves goalie was wide awake again.

Engelage immediately had more trouble than he would have liked with a Scandella shot. In the 16th minute, Patrick Bona stormed alone towards the Rittner goal, but found his match in Engelage. At the other end, Weiman used his leg guard perfectly on a Cook shot before Kavanagh put Engelage in trouble with a long-range shot. But no goal was scored, after 20 minutes it was 0-0.

In the middle third, the home team, with Bona staying in the dressing room with a suspected broken rib, went one step further and had opportunities every minute. Cook makes the preliminary decision

Both teams initially acted very cautiously, although the Wolves continued to dominate the game. In the 46th minute, Scandella missed a top-class shot when his shot rolled past the far post. The guests got involved straight away. After a counterattack, Van Guilder passed to Cook, who gave Weiman the advantage and scored to make it 2-1 from Rittner's perspective.

As a result, the hosts pressed vehemently for the equalizer. But it was like magic, the disc just didn't want to cross the line. The Pusterers were also unable to convert an outnumbered situation into a goal. Ritten waited for counterattacks, which they did. But Weiman saved his team from conceding a third goal when Spinell went solo.

Then, with two minutes left, Collins took his goalie out of the box. However, the goal fell on Rittner's side when Cook put the puck in the empty net to make it 12-3 with 1 seconds left. The match was decided - and the Lehtonen team became Italian champions in 2015/16.
