The wolves have a new pack leader

“A new league is like a new life” - this is what fans sometimes sing exuberantly in stadiums. And you often start a “new life” with a new partner – in the case of HC Pustertal, with a new coach. After proven European insiders Mario Richer and Kim Collins were recently on the Wolves gang, this year they are taking completely new paths with the signing of Mark Holick. The HCP trainer comes from the far west of Canada (British Columbia), is a father of two and, despite being “only” 47, can already count on over 20 years of coaching experience. As a player, Holick made it to the AHL as a “tough guy,” but his playing career was over at the age of 25. The year after his resignation, he moved to the coaching bench - as an assistant coach in his hometown of Penticton. Many years followed as a head coach in the junior leagues BCHL (British Columbia Hockey League), AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) and WHL (Western Hockey League). Because of the strong results, Holick was appointed Western Canadian U-17 coach, where he coached today's NHL stars such as Carey Price (2004). Holick was also head coach in the AHL, from 2009 to January 2012 at the Syracuse Crunch. During this time, the Anaheim Ducks nominated him to their scouting team. In recent years, the Canadian achieved good results with the Prince George Cougars in the WHL before Holick quit there to look for a new challenge - which he has now undoubtedly found.

HC Pustertal has found a new coach for the upcoming AHL championship: Canadian Mark Holick will be in charge of the Wolves gang in the future.
