Dolomites Cup: Augsburg celebrates a narrow opening victory

The German club always had the Tyroleans under control in the starting third. Augsburg took the lead in the eighth minute of the game through Justin David Forrest and even increased the lead to 2-0 after just under a quarter of an hour. This time Patrick Seifert netted for the Panthers. In the middle third, the North Tyroleans reduced the score to 1:2 thanks to Malik, but eleven seconds before the second siren, Werner restored the reassuring two-goal lead. This time the Panthers played with one more man on the ice.

Everything pointed to an easy victory for the Panthers, but after Pittl's goal to make it 2-3 in the 42nd minute, the Franks had to tremble again. Innsbruck now restricted the Germans to their third at times. In the end, the Augsburg Panthers were only narrowly successful.

Two games in the South Tyrolean preparatory tournament will take place on Saturday: Langnau – Augsburg in Neumarkt and Wölfe Fiat Professional against Wolfsburg in the Leitner Solar Arena.
