Dolomitencup: Iserlohn Roosters defeat HC Pustertal with 4:2 goals

Supported by the numerous loud fans who had traveled with them, the Iserlohn Roosters started like the fire brigade from the start of the game and in the first minute they had a numerical advantage due to a foul by Puster player Joe Jensen. Although this remained unused, shortly afterwards Collin Danielsmeier scored the early opening goal for the guests. But the HCP didn't give up and had two big chances with Patrick Bona. Two minutes before the end of the period, Dustin Demuth increased the score to 2-0 for the Roosters.

The second third began with a power play for HC Pustertal. In the 22nd minute, the Bruneck crowd cheered about the supposed 1-2 goal, but the goal was disallowed due to being offside. In return, Iserlohn's Alex Nikiforuk, who played for Valpellice last year, could have made almost everything clear in a counterattack, but Pustertal's goalie Aubin knew how to prevent this. In the 31st minute, Lukas Crepaz managed a nice interplay with Thomas Erlacher, who was narrowly denied by Roosters goalkeeper Caron. Practically in return, the Puster goalkeeper was the focus: Jean Sebastien Aubin “fished” a shot from Iserlohn’s Marvin Tepper from the left corner of the goal and shortly afterwards the Puster fans could still celebrate: In the 34th minute, Joe Cullen shortened the score to 1:2 with a backhand shot . Patrick Bona and Christian Mair provided the pass. In the last third minutes the HCP increasingly looked for an equalizer, but in the 36th minute Iserlohn increased it to 3-1, again with Colin Danielsmeier. The two-goal lead for the Iserlohn Roosters was restored and with this result we went into the last third break.

The climax in the final third was a fight between Max Oberrauch (Pustertal) and Brandon Rogers (Iserlohn, last year at HC Bozen), both of whom received a game-time disciplinary penalty. Ice hockey was played again in between, but five minutes before the end of the game Iserlohn's Christan Hommel was also given a game misconduct penalty after a fight. Just under three minutes before the end of the game, the Fiat Professional Wolves were very close to scoring their second goal: Pat Iannone, outnumbered, shot into the left corner, but Sebastien Caron made a brilliant save. Two minutes before the end of the game, Armin Helfer made it 2:3, with a double majority. When the Wolves put everything on one card and took goalkeeper Aubin out of the goal for an additional field player, the final decision was made: Mike York scored the empty goal and ensured the final result of 4:2 for the Iserlohn Roosters.

Dolomitencup: Iserlohn Roosters defeat HC Pustertal with 4:2 goals
