Dolomitencup: field of participants and mode have been determined

For the first time, France's reigning champions will take part in the Dolomites Cup in Neumarkt. Les Rapaces de GAP absolutely deserved the invitation based on last year's season: The “birds of prey” from GAP played a very strong main round in the top French league last season and were the confident regular season winners with 95 points from 44 games. In the playoff, top scorer Marc-Andrè Bernier and Co. increased their game once again and defeated the Dragons de Rouen 4-2 in the final. The two playoff top scorers Sean Ringrose (Canada) and the French national player Anthony Rech, who has now signed with the Schwenninger Wild Wings in the DEL, were outstanding. In general, the Le Rapaces de GAP want to use the euphoria of the home World Cup with their two current national strikers Damien Raux (defense) and Maurin Bouvet (attack) to make a similarly good impression as representatives of French club ice hockey in the Champions Hockey League, as in the World Cup. The French national team narrowly missed the quarter-finals by just one point behind Finland after victories over Finland, Switzerland and Slovenia.

Ice hockey in France has been on the rise for years, with Yohann Auvitu (Albany, AHL), Damien Fleury (Kunlun Red Star, KHL), Stephane da Costa (CSKA Moscow, KHL), Antonie Roussel (Dallas, NHL) currently playing ) and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare (Philadelphia, NHL) several players were very successful abroad. Les Rapaces de GAP play in the 1st semi-final of the Int. Dolomites Cup on August 11th at 20.00 p.m. against defending champion Augsburger Panther. In the second semi-final, EV Zug (NLA) and the Nuremberg Ice Tigers (DEL) will face each other on August 12th at 20.00 p.m. The finals will take place on August 13th in the Würth Arena in Neumarkt.
