Domenic Monardo strengthens the Foxes' offensive

Monardo (180 cm x 86 kg) is described as a very good ice skater who stands out for his speed and enthusiasm and is also a goal threat. A charismatic leader on and off the field, he also served as captain during his NCAA experience with Lake Superior State University.

It was here that his real ice hockey career began, after he had previously played in the youth leagues in Ontario for four seasons. In the NCAA, Monardo scored 153 points in 101 games. In the 2012/13 season he played in the ranks of Lake Superiore State University and made his first three appearances in the ECHL with the Gwinnett Gladiators. The following year he finally made the leap into the higher category: in the East Coast with the Reading Royals he immediately prevailed and scored 3 points (75 goals and 47 assists) in 27 matches. This performance earned him his first contract in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons in 20/2014, where he scored 15 points (14 + 10) in 4 games and also played 43 games in the ECHL with the Reading Royals. After another season with the Falcons (3 points in 13 games), the Canadian forward split last season between the Hershey Bears (AHL, Washington Capitals farm team - 44 points in 3 games) and the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL - 11 points in 51 games). Monardo played a very good playoff with the Stingrays and reached the final, which was then lost to the Colorado Eagles.

“I'm really excited to be coming to Bolzano - these are Monardo's first words as a white and red player - European ice hockey has always attracted me: the larger playing area certainly suits my offensive instincts, my strengths are playing with the disc and building up the game and look for scoring opportunities. Here in the East Coast I think I have already achieved everything and I was looking for new challenges. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my career and I want to help the team achieve all possible goals. During my time in college I played with Schofield and Sparks and I know they played in Bolzano and both of them told me nothing but good things about the championship and the environment. My family is also happy about this choice and supported me. Domenic Monardo strengthens the Foxes' offensive
