Dornbirn leaves the ice wave against HCB as winners

In the tricky home game against Dornbirn, HCB Südtirol had to do without Rick Schofield in front of their own crowd, who did not recover from lumbago in time after a blow to the neck in the game against the Vienna Capitals. In addition, Vorarlberg defender Enrico Miglioranzi was missing, while MacGregor Sharp had to postpone his comeback to the weekend after surviving an appendix operation.

Bozen immediately took the scepter in hand and made the game. Beaudoin found the first good opportunity, but Adam Dennis was there when the winger shot. After a counterattack, Jonathan D'Aversa appeared dangerously in front of Hübl on the other side, but Bozen's goalie could not be defeated. However, the Talferstädters were more dangerous in their efforts and they also took the lead in the 16th minute when John Esposito, outnumbered, coldly took advantage of an assist from Mark Santorelli. It was Esposito's fifth goal of the season.

In the middle third the home team should have made it 2-0. Santorelli again with the assist, but Strömberg missed from a promising position. After 27.49 minutes there was a shocking moment when Pichè was dangerously checked by Jarrett (Jarrett received a 2+10 minute penalty). But the Foxes defender was able to continue. A little later, Beaudoin slammed the puck onto the post from point-blank range.

The Foxes' poor evaluation of chances took revenge a little later when Chris D'Alvise equalized for the Austrian guests in the 32nd minute. After a quick counterattack, he deposited the puck in the Bolzano goal with a precise shot into the corner. Now the Dornbirn team got a taste of the game and even took the lead after 35.45 minutes. This time Mairitsch successfully completed a counterattack and scored to make it 2-1.

Trenton Whitfield with a strong performance The final third began with an ice-cold shower for the hosts. Because the Pokel team had to accept Dornbirn's third goal. Graham Mink scored in the majority. But Bolzano struck back immediately with Trenton Whitfield, who continued to drive Bolzano. And in fact, nine and a half minutes before the end, the Talferstadt team managed to equalize. Whitfield was there again – it was his 12th goal of the season.

In extra time, Bozen pushed for the winning goal. Whitfield came very close with a circus-like performance, but his shot hit the crossbar. Dornbirn defended cleverly and escaped into the penalty shootout.

Nicoletti was brought down by Adam in the third series without the referees noticing this. In this case, the regulations provide for a goal. So it went back and forth until Martin Grabher Meier decided the match in Vorarlberg's favor.

Dornbirn leaves the ice wave against HCB as winners

As on September 20th, HCB Südtirol had to admit defeat to Dornbirn on Tuesday evening. The Talferstadt team set the tone for much of the game, but in the end they were only able to score one point. This point increases the lead over pursuer Graz to at least six lengths.
