Dornbirn was again not worth the trip for the HCB

Bozen's coach Don MacAdam was able to rely on all the squad players in Dornbirn and sent his best formation into the race. And yet the HCB was behind 0-2 after just six minutes. First it was Philip Putnik who used the space in the visitors' defense to make it 1-0 with a low shot. Just a few minutes later, Nikolas Petrik capitalized on a perfect pass from Guillaume Desbiens. As a result, Bozen repeatedly weakened themselves with unnecessary penalties and thus robbed themselves of the chance to get back into the game.

Bolzano is far too harmless

Immediately after the first break, the DEC got off to another lightning start: James Arniel scored in the power play after an elegant turn into the far corner. Two minutes later it was Philipp Kreuzer who moved into the middle and poked the puck over the line to make it 4-0. Until then, there was absolutely no sign of the reigning champions. It wasn't until halfway through the game that the guests were allowed to cheer for the first time. Marco Insam took advantage of one of the few chances to score and gave the opposing goalie the disadvantage. However, the hit could not wake up the HCB cracks, as they subsequently revealed major weaknesses, especially in the game structure.

Only in the final third did Bozen show another sign of life when Bryan Rodney, standing completely free in front of DEC goalie Lawson, kept his nerve and sank the hard rubber disc into the corner of the cross. The white and reds then threw everything into the balance again, but had no luck in front of the opponent's goal. In the last minute of the game, Jaroslav Hübl made room for a sixth field player. This move bore no fruit, on the contrary: Petrik scored with a shot into the empty net to make the final score 5-2.

HC Bozen has the next opportunity to secure a place in the playoffs on Sunday. The Foxes will be visiting bottom team Ljubljana at 17.45:XNUMX p.m.
