EBEL: Bozen returns to winning ways against Laibach

Coach Simioni again did without Sisca and Hell on Tuesday. Roland Hofer, who was injured for a long time, was also missing, as was John Lee, who has been suffering since the game in Innsbruck. The home team got into the game well and took control right from the start. Already in the 3.25 minute they took the lead thanks to DeSimone, who converted a pass from Crowley. As a result, Insam missed the goal to make it 2-0. However, this didn't take long to arrive: in the 10.34 minute, Oberdörfer served Ziga Pance, who was waiting in the slot, who didn't need to be asked twice and gave Laibach goalkeeper Chiodo the disadvantage. In the final minutes of the first half of the game, the people of Bolzano were a little more cautious. The score didn't change until the first siren and so the Foxes went into the locker room for the first time with a deserved 2-0 lead.

In the middle third, the Talferstadt team pushed for a preliminary decision. Schofield and Gander each had 3-0 on the bat, but both had to miss their opportunities. From then on, the Foxes had the game firmly in their hands. The guests became dangerous just three minutes before the second siren sounded. Music fired a powerful shot, which Hübl was just able to parry.

In the final period, the white and reds appeared increasingly frightened. At times they played disorderly and had more trouble than they deserved against a supposedly weaker opponent. However, the visitors failed to score as Hübl outgrew himself several times and was able to fend off the opponents' shots again and again. Shortly before the end, Zanette had a huge chance, but it missed the empty goal. 67 seconds before the end, Bolzano scored their third goal. When Laibach coach Dahlem took goalie Chiodo off the ice, Nesbitt increased the final score to 3-0 with an empty-net goal.
