EBEL: Bolzano doesn't stop at Znojmo either

Bozen coach Tom Pokel had to do without the injured Marco Insam and MacGregor Sharp in the home game against Znojmo. Rick Schofield was able to play for that. The White-Reds dictated the game from the start and missed the opening goal for the first time through John Esposito after just a few minutes. The Czechs countered with a disciplined style of play. Bolzano struck with the first penalty: Rick Schofield put the home team 1-0 ahead with a remarkable power play goal.

After the first break, the Znojmo cracks came out of the locker room full of energy and immediately created good opportunities. However, it was again the HCB that scored. Once again it was Schofield who made it 2-0. Only a short time later, when Fiala was stewing in the “cooler”, Kim Strömberg even increased the score to 3-0. He was there after a Pichè shot.

Bolzano has to tremble again

The fact that things got exciting again in the end was due, on the one hand, to the Bolzano team's waning strength and, on the other hand, to the unbridled will of the Eastern Europeans, who reduced the score to 2:3 within four minutes in the final third. Podesva and Latner made things really exciting again with their goals. However, Bozen withstood the pressure from Znojmo in the last ten minutes of the game and saved their narrow lead over time. The next extremely unpleasant opponent, the Vienna Capitals, will come into the ice wave on Sunday.

EBEL: Bolzano doesn't stop at Znojmo either

The Foxes broke the last taboo on Saturday evening and defeated every opponent in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League at least once with their win against Orli Znojmo. The HCB won 3-2 and warmed up for the duel against the Vienna Capitals on Sunday.
