EBEL: Bozen loses in extra time

The Foxes had more of the game in the first third and hit the post through Palmieri in the 15th minute. But 60 seconds later, the Italian record champions were rewarded. Flemming was released in the slot and gave Ouzas no chance with a backhand shot. A little later, Gander could have made it 2-0 when he appeared alone in front of the Linz goalie, but fired the puck just past the goal. Afterwards it was Saviano who almost scored when he was outnumbered. The lead after the first third was more than deserved.

Even after the break, Bozen was initially the better team, but almost conceded the equalizer in the 26th minute when Hofer narrowly missed. Shortly afterwards, Piche tried from a distance, but Göhringer missed the rebound. Now the home team came into the game and at times they restricted Bozen into their third. But the Foxes defended cleverly and survived two power plays unscathed. A few seconds before the second siren, Foster would have made it 2-0, but he didn't hit the empty goal.

In the final third, Linz put a lot of pressure on, but failed either because of Hübl or their own inability. Göhringer didn't get the disc over the line while lying down (50th), and a little later Kozek and McLean had no luck. The equalizer was now in the air and in fact: Kozek scored with a wrist shot for the Black Wings in the 55th minute. A goal that was long overdue and deserved.

Because no more goals were scored after that, the game went into extra time. There, Dorion made everything clear after 64.08 minutes. He placed the puck precisely in the top corner.

EBEL: Bozen loses in extra time

In front of almost 4900 spectators in the Nicht-Sorgen-Eisarena-Linz, HCB Südtirol had to admit defeat to the Black Wings 1:2 after extra time on Friday evening. Flemming's opening goal lasted until the 55th minute - after which the home team turned the match around.
