EBEL: HCB Südtirol suffered an opening defeat in Salzburg

The Mozartstadt team started very powerfully against the Foxes, who had to make do without DeSimone and Schofield, and took the lead in the power play in the fifth minute of the game. And Salzburg's negligence with their opportunities almost took revenge, because Insam could have scored the next goal straight away. Gracnar was on his post when he shot from a tight angle and also defused the rebound. The HCB Südtirol was now very active and tried hard and a short time later Sisca made it 1:2 when they were outnumbered.

The Foxes were now in control, but the champions were gradually running out of time. And when Sterling increased the lead to 57-3 in the 1th minute, the game was decided. Komarek was able to cosmeticize the result in the 59th minute and made it 4-1, in which Hübl made a first mistake after an otherwise flawless performance.

EBEL: HCB Südtirol suffered an opening defeat in Salzburg

In the new edition of last year's final for the EBEL championship title, EC Red Bull Salzburg was able to take revenge on the first matchday of the 2014/15 season and put the Foxes in their place with 4-1.
