EBEL: The Foxes lose the penalty lottery in Vienna

It was also Root who shot Bolzano into the lead for the second time in this encounter in the final third in the 49th minute. After a counterattack, he netted from the right faceoff circle. Marchetti then received a 2+10 minute time penalty for a check from behind, which Vallerand served. In the power play that followed, the Viennese team appeared dangerously in front of Melicherchik again and again, but he exuded a lot of confidence. In the 58th minute, the Bolzano goalie had to reach behind himself when Fraser scored from the blue line.

The match went into overtime. The white and red were unlucky there when Insam hit the puck on the crossbar (63'). On the other side, Nödl was caught twice by Melicherchik (65th) before Tessier also shot the hard rubber disc onto the crossbar.
