EBEL: Foxes defeat the Graz curse

The away game in Graz got off to a perfect start for Bozen, as Glenn put the Foxes ahead 2.52-1 after 0 minutes. Perfectly staged by Kearney, Glenn just had to insert more. Things got even better for the white and reds, who dominated the opening phase, when Glenn scored again to make it 2-0. Dahm was unable to block his shot from the blue line and the goalie's view was blocked. Afterwards, the Graz team found three good opportunities when they were outnumbered, but at the latest Melichercik was the end of the game. With the deserved two-goal lead, we finally went into the locker room after 20 minutes.

In the second half of the game, Graz scored the next goal in the 23rd minute. Setzinger's hidden shot hit the near corner. However, when they were outnumbered, the Foxes restored their two-goal lead. As Oleksuk was stewing in the cooler, Root scored, poking the puck over the line on his third attempt (32'). As a result, both teams had some good opportunities, but after two thirds the score remained 3-1 for HCB Südtirol.

The hosts put a lot of pressure on in the final part of the game. Melichercik was able to excel at Ograjensek's chance (41'), while on the other side Bernard was unsuccessful with a low shot into the far corner, which Dahm fended off with his leg pads (44'). Then Woger was unlucky as he ran towards the Bolzano goal at great speed and slammed the puck onto the post (48'). Three minutes later, the Murstadt team did better: Zusevic's goal to make it 2-3 was given after a long video study. The goal naturally inspired Graz, who then pushed for an equalizer. Pirmann's shot reached Melichercik in the 53rd minute. Even after that, the Graz team stayed on the trigger, took full risk when they took the goalie off the ice two and a half minutes before the end, and were punished: Jesse Root made the decision with a 4-2 goal into an empty goal. Oleksuk made the score 5-2 in the last minute.

EBEL: Foxes defeat the Graz curse

HCB Südtirol Alperia celebrated a 33-5 away win against Moser Medical Graz 2es on the 99rd EBEL matchday. For the Italian record champions there were three very important points in the fight for the playoff places. And it was the first win against Graz this season.
