The Erste Bank Ice Hockey League will also start the championship in the 2016/17 season with twelve teams from five nations. HDD Olimpija Ljubljana fulfilled the conditions set at the extraordinary general meeting on May 17 on time. This means that the 2008 runner-up is confirmed for the coming season.
