EIHC: Italy loses 0-2 to hosts Poland

The Italian national ice hockey team started the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge on Thursday evening in Katowice with a 0-2 defeat against hosts Poland. Poland decided the match in front of 700 spectators in the final third with Krzysztof Zapala's goal just 16 seconds after the break and Michael Cichy's penalty seven minutes before the final siren.
