Foxes defeat the Eagles and advance to the final

Almost 1500 spectators did not miss the spectacle between Meran and Bolzano and created a great atmosphere in the Merano Arena. The home team found their first big chance. Patrick Tomasini missed in the first minute alone in front of Bernard's goal. However, just a few minutes later, Bozen took the lead. Hannes Kasslatter escaped from Meran and scored to give the Foxes a 1-0 lead. But Meran responded only a short time later. Luca Ansoldi served Ben Hawerchuk perfectly and he scored the goal ice-cold to make it 1-1.

The next goal came in the second half of the game. Just under two minutes had been played when Sebastian Thaler scored the lead for Meran. As a result, Bozen pushed for the equalizer and put Meran under a lot of pressure, but was repeatedly denied by the strong Frederic Cloutier. Eventually it was Brad MC Clure who restored parity for the Foxes.

After the last break, the HCB dictated the game and repeatedly appeared dangerous in front of the Meran goal. In the 46th minute of the game, Bozen took advantage of a power play and took the lead for the second time this afternoon - the goalscorer was Ryan Culkin - which Mike Halmo extended to 4-2 seven minutes before the final whistle. This was the preliminary decision. Merano never gave up Meran defended itself and fought doggedly for the next goal, but the Eagles were denied any further chances to score. In return, Culkin and Enrico Miglioranzi increased the lead and in the end Bolzano moved into the final thanks to a 6-2 win.

Who HC Bozen will face in the final will be decided tonight. In the second semi-final, which kicks off at 19 p.m., the Rittner Buam will meet ESV Kaufbeuren. Foxes defeat the Eagles and advance to the final

HC Bozen has been confirmed as the first finalist of this year's Hansjörg Brunner Memorial. The Foxes defeated the hosts Merano 6-2 and reached the final of the tournament for the second time in a row.
