Foxes take 1 point from Carinthia

The Foxes got off to a promising start in the game in Villach, after 3 minutes Michael Halmo gave the HCB the lead in a power play. However, VSV was the team that set the tone and Valentin Leiler scored the equalizer in the 16th minute.

In the middle third, Dominic Monardo put the Foxes back in the lead after an assist from Alexander Egger. Three minutes later, Austin Smith increased the score to 1:3 on a power play after a pass from Charles Robin Gartner. The Foxes acted powerfully in the middle third, but Villach scored in the 30th minute to make it 2-3, with Robert Flick scoring the goal.

Does HCB have “Graz syndrome”?

Memories of the bitter defeat against the Graz99ers slowly came back to life when the HCB gave away a comfortable lead. Carinthia was hardly worth a trip for HCB Südtirol Alperia. In the Villach town hall, the Foxes suffered a narrow defeat in the penalty shootout. With 1 point, the HCB at least made up 1 place in the EBEL table, Dornbirn replaced the Foxes as bottom of the table.
