Concentrated load of youth for HC Pustertal

Ivo Machacka, former crack at EV Bruneck (1980-1995 with over 500 appearances) and in the Wolves' coaching team for years, remains Mark Holick's assistant coach. The 54-year-old began his career at HCP Junior in 2011 and coached various categories there. In addition to joining the HCP as a “co” in the summer of 2015, he was appointed to various youth national teams. In April 2017, Machacka acted as head coach at the U18 World Championships in Div-1B! Mark Holick and Ivo Machacka are confirmed as the coaching team for 2017/18, with the start of the new ice age taking place on August 14th!

Simon Berger's return to the HCP could be a positive surprise. After middle school, the man from Bruneck moved to high school in Vipiteno and immediately moved on to Bad Tölz to the U16 there. This was followed by three seasons with strong statistics in the student Bundesliga and DNL for the soon to be 18-year-old striker. Berger always leaves a strong impression on the various junior national teams. The tall striker has played in no fewer than three U3 and one U3 World Cups so far, and in April he even served as captain and goalscorer (U18 Div.20B, 18 goals). Berger receives a 1-year contract and should be developed carefully.

The Wolves have a young, largely unknown newcomer in defense. Gianluca March was born in 1997, is a member of the U20 national team and played for the Fassa Falcons last season. There he not only achieved 5 scorer points, but also made the leap into professional ice hockey. After various youth stints in the Unterland and Überetsch, the agile defender made his debut for Neumarkt in INL and Serie A before being hired in Fassa. Now March has received a contract with HC Pustertal, which, based on last season's experience, is aiming for a slightly broader roster of players in defense.

HC Pustertal has struck on the transfer market. The U18 national team coach, a leadership crack of the U20 Azzurri, as well as the (Pusterer) captain of the U18 are working on the Rienz in the coming season!
