HC Bozen ends the regular season with a defeat

As in Klagenfurt, the Foxes had to make do without Hell, Galvins and Zanette in the Linz No-Sorrow Arena. The guests had a difficult time right from the start. The Black Wings clearly set the pace, breaking the spell in the 15th minute through Mate Gaspar.

Immediately after the first break, the second-place team from Upper Austria increased their lead to 2-0: Jason Ulmer directed a hammer shot from former HCB defender Sebastien Pichè into the net. In direct response, Markus Gander failed to hit the goalposts. Bozen goalie Hübl was then able to defuse a penalty from Dorion, but in the 32nd minute Linz still made it 3-0 through Spannring. Just two minutes later, Marco Insam brought excitement back to life with the visitors' first goal.

However, this was to be HC Bozen's only goal of the evening. The White-Reds tried to build up pressure in the final third, but Mike Oulette from Linz made the decision early. In the final phase, Spannring scored his second goal to make the final score 5-1.

HC Bozen ends the regular season with a defeat

The HCB said goodbye to the championship break on Sunday evening with a defeat. The champions lost 1:5 to the Black Wings Linz on the meaningless last match day. In the qualifying round, the race for the two remaining playoff tickets begins on February 10th with the home game against Ljubljana.
