HC Bozen wins the Alperia Cup 2016

As on Friday in Brunico, HCB coach Tom Pokel had to do without the injured Luca Frigo and Jesse Root as well as the ill Daniel Frank in the ice wave. Fabian Ebner, Tauferer and Kevin Fink were missing from Ritten.

Bozen started powerfully and had Oberdörfer hit the crossbar in the first minute of the game. After the second goal, the Talferstadt team became noticeably more careless, which quickly took revenge: After goalkeeper Smith ran too far out of the goal, Ritten's new signing Oscar Ahlström scored to make it 1-2. The “Buam” then missed a double advantage and were lucky shortly before the end of the first third when Vallerand missed twice to make it 3-1. Immediately after the restart, HCB crack BrodieReid restored the two-goal lead after another Yogan assist. As a result, Ritten pressed for the goal in another 5-3 situation, but Borgatello found his match several times in Smith. Four minutes before the end of the period, the “Foxes” scored their fourth goal: Everson successfully completed a successful combination via Oleksuk and Palmieri – 4:1. Both teams slowed down in the final third. The first highlight of the last 20 minutes came from Vallerand, who made his way down the right side and scored with a precise shot to make it 5-1. The Rittners came back straight away and scored their second goal when they were outnumbered by Victor Ahlström. Ten minutes before the end, Kearney finally put the lid on the game: the attacker scored to make it 6-2. In the last minute of the game, the HCB could have increased the lead to 7:2, but Egger failed to get a penalty into the Rittner goal. So it remained 6:2. The Ritten goalie Killen and the Bolzano attacker Oleksuk were recognized as the best players of the game.

The Supercup will be awarded in Klobenstein on Sunday Tomorrow, Sunday, the Alperia Cup in Klobenstein will end with the last match between Ritten and Pustertal. Although this game is meaningless for the awarding of the Alperia Cup, it is still very important because the winner takes home the Italian Super Cup. Both teams have already won this trophy twice: Ritten in 2009 and 2010, Pustertal in 2011 and 2014.
