HC Bozen climbs further with derby victory - UPDATE

After Friday's win against Villacher SV, numerous HCB fans made the pilgrimage to the Eiswelle to witness the sixth win in a row against Innsbruck. And they weren't disappointed, as the White and Reds immediately set a high tempo and pushed for the opening goal. This finally came in the 16th minute when Joel Broda beat HCI goalie Andy Chiodo with a shot into the top corner. However, the celebration quickly died down because just two minutes later John Lammers equalized with a one-timer to make it 1-1.

At the beginning of the second period, HC Bozen used a power play to take the lead again: Again it was Broda who hammered the puck under the crossbar after a pass from Vause. The home team continued to exert pressure and did not allow Innsbruck to come into the game.

After the last break, both teams engaged in an open exchange of blows, which Innsbruck opened with the equalizer. Jeff Ulmer initially hit the bar, but then reacted quickly and pushed in to make it 2-2. In return, a hammer shot from the blue line from Brett Flemming hit the Innsbruck goal. After that, the Sharks threw everything forward, but the HCB found the biggest chance. Alex Foster slammed the puck into the post with three minutes left. This was the final highlight of this thrilling game.

By winning the full number of points, Bolzano remains firmly in the playoff zone.

HC Bozen climbs further with derby victory - UPDATE

In front of a record crowd of almost 3.100 spectators, HCB Südtirol clinched their third win in a row on Sunday afternoon and once again put HC Innsbruck in their place. The Foxes beat their North Tyrolean rivals 3-2.
