HCB celebrates 4th win in a row

HC Bozen Südtirol is about to roll up the field from behind. On Friday evening, the White-Reds gave themselves an early Christmas present and ultimately celebrated a deserved and confident 4-0 win.

But first things first: The game started optimally for the HCB. After just 2 minutes, Brock Nixon from Graz had to go to the penalty box because of a knee check. And the Foxes were able to put a lot of pressure on the first power play. After 4 minutes the puck fidgeted in the net. Bozen's Micelli made his way from the right into the middle and finished. Toivonen was able to block the first shot, but had no chance with Oleksuk's follow-up shot. 1-0 for the home team. It stayed that way after the first half, although the guests had several chances to equalize, especially shortly before the half-time siren.

The Foxes seemed to enjoy the break tea. The home team also started furiously in the second third and were immediately rewarded. The first chance made it 2-2. Gander fought for the target at the blue line, fueled his way through to the right and served Frigo, who just had to push in. Then a shocking moment for Bozen: Canadian Mike Halmo was caught during a check and had to leave the field injured. But soon the all-clear was given and Halmo was able to continue.

As a result, there were opportunities on both sides. Curious: Towards the end of the second third there was the fourth penalty of the game against the Graz 99ers - and for the fourth time Nixon had to go out, this time for holding the stick. This almost proved to be the guests' undoing, but Bolzano narrowly failed several times.

At the beginning of the third third there were two penalties for the HCB, once by captain Egger and once against Halmo, almost immediately after each other, but the guests from Graz were unable to capitalize on them. The HCB was completely different: In the 3th minute of the game, Angelidis made it 49-3 in a power play and thus ensured a preliminary decision. The Graz team had little to counter the White-Red team's good defense and were rarely dangerous. Shortly before the end of the game, Gander made the score 0-4.

Despite the victory, the white-reds are still in last place. The Christmas celebrations for the HCB players come to an end on St. Stephen's Day. Then HCB Südtirol wants to continue its winning streak away from home in Dornbirn.
