HCB continues its winning streak but remains last

One thing in advance: The Foxes couldn't give up the red lantern. Nevertheless, after the fourth win from the last five games, the situation looks a lot rosier than it did a few weeks ago: With 33 points, the HCB is one point behind Villach and three behind Fehervar. Egger & Co. are six points short of Znojmo's eighth place. And yet the win against Fehervar has a somewhat bad aftertaste: Bolzano was in the lead with 2-0, but then gave this lead away and therefore only took home two points instead of three.

Angelidis and Monardo give the team a 2-goal lead In the first third, the HCB gained a slight advantage, but the guests had the greatest chance with Latendresse, who alone showed his nerves in front of Tuokkola. After the break, the Bolzano team's offensive efforts became more concrete in the ice wave filled with 2460 spectators: After Tommassoni's pass, Angelidis was in the right place and sank the puck into the goal (23.11). But that's not all: Shortly after Fehervar had survived a double outnumbered situation unscathed, Bozen struck again when Monardo used a crossbar rebound from Tommassoni to make it 2-0. But disillusionment followed in the second period: two minutes before the siren, Tuokkola let a Latendresse shot bounce forward, where Gilbert was there and reduced the score to 1:2.

Fehervar stepped on the accelerator in the final third, but was never able to finish in a really dangerous way. During the relief attacks, the Bolzano team repeatedly had the opportunity to make the decision, but Tommassoni, Gartner and Halmo missed their chances. That took revenge: After 51 minutes, Gilbert got the puck again and gave Tuokkola the disadvantage with a well-placed shot.

Halmo keeps his nerve As a result, Bozen was unlucky twice: 45 seconds before the end there was a confusing scene in front of the Fehervar goal, after which the puck was suddenly in the goal. However, the referees did not recognize the hit. In extra time, Miceli's luck wasn't on his side when he hit the post. So the penalty shootout was necessary, and that's where Halmo landed the lucky punch and shot Bozen to victory.

HCB Südtirol Alperia scored a 30-3 win after a penalty shootout against Fehervar on Tuesday evening during the 2th EBEL match day and sees light at the end of the tunnel again.
