HCB Südtirol is chasing important points against Dornbirn

In the EBEL table the gaps between the teams are getting smaller and smaller. The top seven in the ranking are in close proximity to each other: the leaders are the Vienna Capitals with 46 points, while the Graz 99ers are in seventh place, just nine points behind. The people of Bolzano, who had to admit defeat to the class leaders from the Austrian capital in front of their home crowd on Sunday, have now slipped to sixth place.

On Tuesday evening, the people of Bolzano want to build on their home advantage again before they travel to the Czech Republic and Hungary at the weekend. Bolzano and Dornbirn have faced each other twice in the EBEL championship. In the first direct duel, which took place on September 20th in the South Tyrolean capital, the Austrians prevailed 6:5 after a penalty shootout. On October 8th, however, the Foxes took revenge from a distance and defeated the Vorarlbergers 3-1 (Santorelli, Charlebois and Sharp scored for Bozen, and Sonne scored the consolation goal for the home team). The “Bulldogs” have the second strongest power play in the league (scoring rate of 23,44%) and, with Luciano Aquino (39 points scored, including 16 hits), one of the best scorers in the EBEL.

As far as the lineups are concerned, Coach Pokel will be without defender Enrico Miglioranzi and striker MacGregor Sharp on Tuesday, who has started training again after appendectomy and will probably make his comeback at the weekend.
