HCP in a frenzy of celebration: The Wolves beat leaders Ritten

The HCP is getting better and better: After a bad start to the season including a change of coach (Mark Holick was replaced by Finn Petri Mattila last week, who made his debut behind the boards against Ritten), the Wolves have now left the ice as winners three times in a row – most recently on Tuesday evening against the Rittner Buam. The reigning champions suffered their second defeat of the season against Pustertal, but still remain in first place.

In Bruneck's Rienz Stadium, which was attended by a total of 1340 fans, the two teams fought a hard-fought duel in which the Wolves showed their claws from the start. Elliscasis gave the Pusterers the lead after two minutes, Oberrauch made it 2-0 after ten turns of the pointer. Ritten dealt with this double blow quickly and made it 1:2 through Lutz right after the start of the second period. Afterwards, both teams had a thrilling exchange of blows, in which Pustertal was slightly superior in shots on goal with a score of 37:28. But no more goals were scored - and the Puster victory was perfect.

In the second game of the evening, Feldkirch beat Zell am See 4-3 after extra time.

Two games from the 16th round were played in the Alps Hockey League on Tuesday - including the traditional South Tyrolean duel Pustertal against Ritten, which the Wolves somewhat surprisingly won 2-1 in the end.
