Bitter HCB defeat at the start of the pick round

The HCB entered the intermediate round of the top six in fifth place with zero bonus points. It remains at zero points for the time being. At the start of the Pick Round, the White-Reds had to admit defeat 0-4 at the Vienna Capitals on Tuesday evening after a weak game for long stretches.

In return, Alex Wall scored for the Caps to make it 2-0. The Canadian defender showed a strong solo effort and hit the near corner. Towards the end of the second third, the HCB tried everything again to catch up, but failed several times in the power play due to Lamoureux. HCB can't reach it anymore The Foxes were also unable to convert the power play at the start of the third period into goals. In general, clear chances of scoring the next goal for the defending champions remained scarce. Instead, Kelsey Tessier made it 45-3 after 0 minutes. Shortly afterwards, Lamoureux defused a shot from Bernard. Riley Holzapfel finally made it 3-0 after 49 minutes and finally broke the guests' necks.
