It was already clear to the HCP before the game started that the away match against reigning champions and league leaders Salzburg would be anything but a walk in the park. It came as a surprise that the match turned out to be so one-sided. The Wolves “only” had to admit defeat 0-3, but at no point in the game did they have a serious chance of taking anything worthwhile from the Salzburg ice arena. At the same time, HC Bozen celebrated its next ice hockey party in the Tyrolean derby against Innsbruck.

Two facts were indicative of Puster's harmlessness: the best Puster man on the ice was goalie Tomas Sholl, who played an outstanding game and fended off 39 of 41 shots (the score was 0-3 via empty net). The goalkeeper from California impressed with several big saves and kept his team in the match until the final minutes. But that's exactly where the second fact comes into play. The Wolves' offensive was blocked by Salzburg's physically strong defense for 60 minutes. The Pusterers only fired ten shots at the goal of Salzburg backup David Kickert - a worrying figure.

With three defeats from the first four games, HC Pustertal is already under pressure. Of course: two of these defeats came against the champions (Salzburg) and the runners-up (Fehervar).
