Semifinals! The “Foxes” send Klagenfurt on vacation

The two teams have already had to go into overtime three times in the previous quarter-final series. This was noticeable to both HC Bozen and the guests from Klagenfurt. Although Mike Halmo had the first chance after 58 seconds, the game didn't really get going after that. The KAC tried long-range shots, but HCB goalie Pekka Tuokkola (he is the best play-off goalkeeper so far according to numbers) didn't have any major problems.

Klagenfurt is twice outnumbered, Bolzano is ice cold It wasn't until the middle of the first third that the match picked up speed. First an attempt was blocked by HCB defender Robin Gartner, then within a few seconds Klagenfurt's David Fischer and Patrick Harand had to go into the cooler. Apart from an attempt by Stefan Geier, which Tuokkola was able to defuse, not much came of it. Instead, the “Foxes” had good opportunities to make it 2-0 through Halmo (he appeared alone in front of Madlaner after Monardo’s preparatory work), Frank and Frigo. For the HCB it is already the third semi-final in the fifth EBEL participation. In the first season (5/3) the White-Reds won the championship title as newcomers. After the HCB failed in the quarter-finals against Linz in the following two years, they only had to admit defeat in the semi-finals last year - even then the opponent was Vienna.
