There is no big reaction from the HCB

While at HC Pustertal the coaching effect continued on Friday evening in the win in Salzburg, HC Bozen is not (yet) getting up to speed even after coach Doug Mason was fired. Under the leadership of the coaching team around Fabio Armani and Alexander Egger, the Foxes lost to their table neighbors Vienna 1:2.

The HCB started the home game against the Capitals, who were also handicapped by failures, without Marco Insam, Simon Pitschieler and new signing Daniel Ciampini (he will make his debut on Sunday). In return, HC Meran's short-term loanee Daniel Gellon was allowed to play on the ICE for the first time. The 20-year-old Burggräfler, who was trained in Austria and the USA, showed some good ideas.

All in all, however, it was not the turnaround at HC Bozen that was hoped for. Three days after Mason's expulsion, the Foxes all showed great commitment, a lot of hardness and a high willingness to run, but they continued to have no luck on the ice. Inaccuracies at the front and back didn't allow for a really powerful game.

The key scenes of the game The game isn't even two minutes old when HCB takes the lead: Daniel Frank sends Dustin Gazley on his way, who hits Caps goalie David Kickert with a heel on the seat of his pants and shoots in. Just three minutes after Bolzano made it 1-0, Nikolaus Hartl equalized. A ricocheted shot lands in the slot at his feet, and a fraction of a second later the rubber fidgets in the mesh. Nothing happens for a long time in the second third. Only when Keegan Lowe and the Viennese Armin Preiser let their fists fly did the waves briefly rise. Vienna took the lead for the first time in the 38th minute: 41-year-old club veteran Philipp Lakos hammered the target under the crossbar with a slap shot. What a cracker from Alex Trivellato! Ten minutes before the end, the Leifer defender hits the puck on the underside of the crossbar with a one-timer. The video evidence makes it clear: No goal. In the final minutes, the HCB pushed for a 2-2 score, but the Caps' defense held tight. It remains a narrow victory for the guests. In the next home game on Sunday from 16 p.m., the Foxes have the opportunity to show that they have significantly improved not only in terms of commitment, but also in terms of play. Then tenth-placed Graz visits the south of Bolzano. There is no big reaction from the HCB

Five days after the double-digit defeat against Znojmo and one coach being fired later, HCB Südtirol Alperia was unable to stop its negative trend in the ICE Hockey League.
