The HCB reaction: Thomas & Co. send a strong signal

In the last two lost games of the series, one couldn't shake the feeling that the Foxes were not playing the ice hockey that is required in the 5th season. Too good, too beautiful. After the 5-1 statement victory in Upper Austria, this impression has disappeared again. Mitch Hults & Co. showed a united team performance, showed the qualities that have been sorely missed recently and didn't give the Linzers the slightest chance. They did not recognize their inferiority that evening, instead they resorted to unfair means that cost them dearly.

HCB coach Glen Hanlon made small changes to the lineup compared to the second game. He put Matt Frattin alongside the recently pale Mitch Hults and Christian Thomas. Angelo Miceli stormed with Leonardo Felicetti and Domenic Alberga. Changes that bore the desired fruit: the offensive game was revitalized. Hults and Thomas were able to develop their qualities much better because Frattin did the dirty work. But the other rows also picked up speed. The logical consequence was that five goals were scored in the end. Because the playful class of the Foxes far exceeds that of the Black Wings. This renewed danger gives us confidence for the fifth game on Friday in Bolzano (19.45 p.m.).

Linz's most dangerous man to date will probably be missing from this one. Emilio Romig, match winner in games 2 and 3, lost his composure at the end of the second period, knocked Ryan Culkin down with a stick blow to the head and was sent to the shower after video study. After the 1:2 home defeat on Sunday there was a lot of fire under the roof at HCB Südtirol Alperia. Thanks to an impressive performance at the Black Wings Linz, the Füchse erased this on Tuesday and made it clear: We can also play playoff ice hockey.
