A bittersweet Wolves success

Tomek Valtonen's team started the game in Székesfehérvár with a lot of pressure, as Olivier Archambault, who had been outstanding recently, was unavailable. However, even without their offensive engine, the Wolves showed a strong performance, which was rewarded with a 4-3 win after a penalty shootout. Despite the victory, Raphael Andergassen & Co. are dependent on help (or a slip-up from the 99ers) in the last two games against Villach and Olimpija Ljubljana if they want to reach the pre-playoffs.

The game in Hungary was a constant ups and downs, a game on a knife edge that took countless turns. One that got the audience out of their seats. Not least because a lot of emotions fueled the duel. The teams clashed several times and the referee team didn't always have control. Things got particularly heated after the third siren sounded, when Alex Petan was sent to the dressing room early after loud protests. 82 seconds earlier, the Hungarians had scored the supposed winning goal through Andrew Sarauer. The wolves saved themselves into overtime – also thanks to a penalty against Fehervar.

The game was hard to beat in terms of excitement. Unfortunately for the Wolves fans, Ivan Deluca & Co. couldn't take advantage of a two-minute power play - it went to a penalty shootout. In this, three players became the protagonists: goalie Tomas Sholl, who thwarted all attempts, and Filip Ahl and Raphael Andergassen, who each converted. Meanwhile, HCB Südtirol made it clear that it would take part in the Champions Hockey League. Turbulent final phase In the last few minutes things went haywire: First Andre Sarauer scored the possible winning goal, 34 seconds later Johan Harju equalized after a fine pass from Hannoun. A bittersweet Wolves success

Now it's time to tremble: two game days before the end of the regular season in the ICE Hockey League, HC Pustertal slipped out of the top 10. This was due to a loss of points at Fehervar and the parallel win of the Graz 99ers against Red Bull Salzburg.
