A former native of Bolzano delivers the death blow to the Foxes

At the end of a hard and fast-paced, but rarely high-class game, HC Bozen lost to Linz 3:4. The South Tyroleans' fluctuating performance over 60 minutes was punished by, of all people, Rick Schofield, who wore the colors white and red from 2013 to 2015.

The opening phase was the Foxes' best of the entire game. They put the Linz goal under constant fire from the first puck drop and consequently took the lead in the 7th minute. Anton Bernard used a rebound to score his 5th goal of the season and make it 1-0 for the hosts. Bolzano's backup Justin Fazio, who was allowed to start at home for the first time, had nothing to do for a long time - until the final phase of the starting third, when Colton Hargrove had to go into the cooler for 4 minutes and Dan DaSilva made the first Linz power play to make it 1-1 coined. Catenacci scores on the comeback The equalizer took all the wind out of the sails of the White and Reds, and now the Black Wings were suddenly much more present on the ice. After the break they took the lead for the first time through Andreas Kristler. The Bolzano fans had to wait a long time for their team to react, but it was all the more vehement: In the 34th minute, Anthony Bardaro skillfully put the puck under the crossbar after Linz's lack of attention, and just seconds later Dan Catenacci used a precise Arniel cross pass to 3:2. The former NHL crack celebrated his return to the lineup after missing 7 weeks due to injury.

However, the HCB lead only lasted until the beginning of the third period, when the Upper Austrians came out of the locker room with more vigor and equalized through their star player Brian Lebler. As a result, Bozen repeatedly had problems with the aggressive Black Wings. Beddoes' protégés also had their chances, but the best one came from Lebler on the other side. His blueliner hit the inside post. 3 minutes before the end, the Foxes were definitely dealt the death blow: Schofield, of all people, who won the championship with Bozen in 4, scored from close range to make it 2014-4. The HCB Südtirol Alperia presented itself to its 4000 fans in the ice wave early on Sunday evening like a moody diva who allowed herself to be completely thrown out of step by aggressive Linzers. The Black Wings pushed the Foxes out of second place in the table.
