A great name at the end: The HCP is complete

The sporting management had been looking for a strong center forward for a long time, and now the completion can be reported. The man who is supposed to strengthen the Wolves storm is called Brad Morrison. The name brings back memories, especially for older ice hockey fans in Italy. Father Doug played in Meran, Uncle Mark became a legend in the Passer city and spent four spectacular years there. Now nephew Brad is coming to HC Pustertal in the ICE Hockey League and brings interesting qualifications with him. 24 years young, fast and strong – this is how the striker, drafted by the New York Rangers in 2015, is described. Morrison enjoyed his training in his hometown in Prince George (British Columbia), where he achieved strong statistics for years in the WHL junior league. His coach at the time was Mark Holick, who coached the HCP in the Alps Hockey League. The “exploit” to become the playoff top scorer in the entire WHL brought the left-handed shooter a professional contract in the American Hockey League. Morrison then recorded 2018 goals and 19 assists with the Ontario Reign in 10/10. In the following years, the 183 cm tall, rather lanky center forward went to the ECHL (Fort Wayne Comets, Indy Fuel) and AHL (Rockford Icehogs). An impulse purchase that makes the people of Puster happy Most recently, the transfer rights were moved first from the Kings to the Blackhawks and then to the Florida Panthers. They did not sign the player, which is why Brad Morrison's European career - like Uncle Mark and with the shirt number 17 - now begins in South Tyrol. The HCP's sporting management thinks they have found a player with a lot of potential and great ambition. Coach Luciano Basile said: “Brad is now something of an impulse buy. Morrison chose a European career and we didn't hesitate for a moment. We are confident that his skills will fit into our ambitious, competitive team.” The last game in the Rienz Stadium Brad Morrison is now trying to get the entry papers as quickly as possible and comments on his commitment to the HCP as follows: “I am very excited about Bruneck, the ice hockey there and the fans and teammates. I want to get on the plane as early as possible and join the team.” On Friday the HCP will play its very last game in the old Rienz Stadium. 930 spectators with Green Passes are admitted to the game; the game starts at 20 p.m. On Sunday the HCP concludes its pre-season in Villach.
