A blatant playoff false start: HCB loses at home
It won't be a walk - that much has been clear since Friday evening at the latest. HCB Südtirol Alperia started the playoff quarter-final series against the Bratislava Capitals with a surprising defeat.

The Foxes' defeat against Bratislava yesterday wasn't that surprising to me, given the mixed last two home defeats against Klagenfurt and especially against Vienna. I'm not convinced that the choice of Bratislava was the right one due to HCB's current low form. Fehervar would have been the one who would have picked Fehervar, who seems completely exhausted.
The Slovakian goalkeeper Coreau certainly performed well, but there were only 3 big saves at most. The hosts' inability to convert a 1 to 5 advantage into goals in the first third speaks volumes.
An increase in the performance of all HCB players, both in attack and defense, is essential in order to overcome the first playoff hurdle.
