Foxes pick up a Christmas win in Zagreb

The game in the “Dom Sportova” in Zagreb started with a bang: Riley Brace gave the guests the lead after just 26 seconds. In the middle third, Zagreb made perfect use of a power-play, poking around wildly in front of Leland Irving's goal, and Igor Jacmenjak managed to temporarily equalize. But the Foxes reacted immediately, Matthew Mackenzie put the Bolzano team in front again.

Goal festival in the third third In the final third, the better fitness of the Foxes became noticeable, as they were able to play with four lines in Zagreb, while the home team only played with three lines. After a rebound from Zagreb goalie Vilim Rosandic, Ivan Deluca caused confusion in front of the goal, Viktor Schweitzer was there and pushed in - his second goal of the season to make it 1:3. Two hits in ten seconds Alex Petan demonstrated his footballing skills at 1:6 when he skated the puck to Brett Findlay in front of the opponent's goal, who scored with a powerful shot from close range. The Foxes were without the injured Blunden and Crescenzi in Zagreb, as well as Catenacci (flu). For this reason, Glira and Carozza, two players who were recently forced to watch, were on the ice. Stefano Marchetti, on the other hand, played his 100th game for the Foxes! The HCB climbed to second place in the table, one point ahead of the KAC.

Foxes pick up a Christmas win in Zagreb

The last matchday before Christmas was on the program in the EBEL on Sunday evening. Champion HCB Südtirol was a guest at bottom team Zagreb and returned from Croatia as the new runners-up.
