Foxes are in crisis

In front of almost 3000 spectators, the game didn't start as desired for the Foxes, as the hosts took control of the game from the first minute. At first Bernard & Co. were lucky when Ondrej Sedivy only hit the edge of the goal and Leland Irving surpassed himself twice. In the 8th minute, the home team deservedly took the lead: Tyler Spurgeon's pass to the middle deflected HCB defender Stefano Marchetti into his own goal. Five minutes before the end of the third, the Haie even increased the lead to 2-0 after a mistake in the Bolzano defense team. This time Innsbruck's top scorer Andrew Clark was able to celebrate.

Two defenders score on the power play At the beginning of the second third, HCB got into the game better and created numerous chances. Markus Nordlund only hit the post shortly after the restart. In the 30th minute, the reigning champions were rewarded for their effort: Tim Campbell scored the goal with a powerful shot from the blue line in the power play. But that wasn't enough: Nordlund equalized 23 seconds before the end of the second period. This hit also came in the majority.

In the last part of the game, the red-whites tried to take advantage of the greater squad width, as Innsbruck coach Rob Pallin only had three rows available on Friday evening. This was only partially successful. Findlay scored another goal, but it was disallowed by the referees because Riley Brace was in the opponent's goal area. After that not much happened and so the winner of this game had to be decided in extra time. There the Sharks kept the better end for themselves thanks to a goal from Nicholas Ross. Foxes are in crisis

The champions remain winless in 2019. After three defeats in four games, Kai Suikkanen's team also lost in Innsbruck. The game in the Tiroler Wasserkraft Arena ended 3-2 after extra time.
