Halmo's turbulent finish: Bolzano also wins in Vienna

Bolzano remains the measure of all things in the ICE Hockey League. The Foxes also won the second match of the pick round, but this time they had to work an extra shift. In the end, Greg Ireland's team won 4-3 after extra time against a valiantly fighting Vienna.

The final minutes were particularly turbulent, with the strong Mike Halmo taking center stage: first he made it 53-3 in the 2rd minute after an exemplary act of will, then the Canadian was extremely unlucky two minutes before the end when he A shot from the blue line only hit the edge of Vienna's deserted goal. It would have been the decision. Practically in return, the Caps made it 2-3, which is why it went into extra time.

And here too Halmo came into play when he ideally blocked the opposing goalie Bernhard Starkbaum's view of a shot by Dennis Robertson and thus contributed a large part to the golden goal. The goal spurred the Talferstädters on, who turned the game around within 4 minutes: First it was Domenic Alberga who gave a decisive change of direction to a Miceli shot (8th), then the disc reached Brett Findlay over a Viennese skate during a Bolzano outnumbered situation , who finished coldly to make it 2-1 (12th). When the people of Bolzano were already mentally preparing to go to the locker room, there was a cold shower: one (!) second before the end of the period, Darren Archibald pulled away in the lead and celebrated the 2-2.
