HCB gala on Jagr's return to South Tyrol

HCB coach Beddoes had to do without regular goalie Leland Irving against the Czechs, who sustained an injury during training. Because the Foxes still don't have a backup in goal, Frederic Cloutier - he most recently earned his living at Asiago in the AlpsHL - stood in between the posts for him.

Cloutier had to reach behind himself for the first time after a good quarter of an hour. Patrik Machac walked through the HCB defense in the power play and shot into the short corner - 1-0 for the Czechs (16th). The Foxes' best chance in the first third came shortly before the half-time siren, but Kladno goalie Lukas Cikanek was able to clear the puck from the Wirr-Warr zone in front of his goal.

Newcomer Sylvestre puts himself in the limelight After the first break, the match became livelier, even if the pace was manageable. After Anthony Bardaro left the score 1-1 (he ran alone towards Cikanek), Colton Hargrove did better (27'). A little later, Daniel Glira tried a long shot, which was parried by Cikanek (30'). Seconds later, the Czech goalkeeper was powerless and Sylvestre used a cross from Tim Daly in the slot to give the Foxes a 2-1 lead (31'). But it wasn't enough to take the third lead because HCB defender Stefano Marchetti unfortunately deflected the puck into his own net to make it 2-2 (36'). Bolzano's goal rush in the third third Shortly after the start of the final third, the HCB took the lead again. Angelo Miceli took a puck from new signing Dennis Robertson, fueled his way through and beat the Kladno goalie - the 3-2 for Bolzano (43'). As a result, Kladno crumbled and the HCB went on a scoring spree. The Foxes struck three times within 61 seconds: first Stefano Giliati, then Domenic Alberga and, at the end of this furious minute, Sylvestre.

Too much for Jagr, who called for a timeout and gave his teammates a hard time. But it didn't help much, Jamie Arniel scored HCB's seventh goal of the evening (56th). As a result, Machac scored his second goal of the evening in the ice wave, but the Czechs couldn't do anything more. It remained 7:3 for Bolzano.

The South Tyrol Summer Classic goes into the second round on Saturday evening. Then the Nuremberg Ice Tigers (Germany) and Stavanger Oilers (Norway) face each other in the ice wave (20 p.m.). The HCB will be back in action on Sunday – then in the final. HCB gala on Jagr's return to South Tyrol

The eagerly awaited return of ice hockey superstar Jaromir Jagr to Bolzano was won by HCB Südtirol Alperia 7-3. Especially in the final third, new signing Sèbastien Sylvestre & Co. were unstoppable.
