On the occasion of the top game, over 3500 fans made a pilgrimage to the Sparkasse Arena, which so far this season has presented itself as an impregnable fortress for the away teams. The goal difference of 33:12 speaks for the dominance of the HCB, which however had to deal with the strongest away team in the league on Sunday. The Bulls had won all five of their games away from home. So it couldn't be more explosive. In this duel of heavyweights, Mike Halmo & Co. retained the upper hand 1-0 after a tough fight, which meant the Foxes further extended their lead in the table and made it clear who was number 1 in the league.

The fact that the HCB fans were able to celebrate their next success after 60 intense minutes was mainly thanks to one man: Foxes goalie Sam Harvey. The Canadian, labeled as a risky purchase, is increasingly turning out to be a stroke of luck. He impresses with his great calmness, but at the same time with strong reflexes and a strong ability to anticipate. If Glen Hanlon's team is at the top of the table, then that is also thanks to him. In addition to Harvey, the lively Christian Thomas also earned top marks. Bolzano's royal transfer has so far met the high expectations that have existed since his move. Eleven goals in 17 games is a rate that can be described as outstanding.

Despite the victory, the Foxes have recognized that they have a tough opponent in the fight for the championship title. The Bulls were the better team for large parts of the game, which is also reflected in the shooting statistics. The Salzburg team is currently missing players like Troy Bourke, Ty Loney and Thomas Raffl. The rest of the season promises a lot of excitement – and explosiveness.
