Landmark victory: The derby becomes a Bolzano party

HC Bozen has impressively underlined its current supremacy in ice hockey Italy. The state capital team defeated their arch-rivals from Bruneck 6-2 at the end of a one-sided game. The league leaders thus won the second duel of the season. The Bozen cashier will also be happy, because with 4627 people, more supporters passed through the turnstiles at the stadium entrance than ever before in a HCB regular season game in the ICE Hockey League.

HCB captain Daniel Frank and his teammates clinched their seventh win in their seventh home game and stopped the Wolves' resurrection (three wins from their last four games) for the time being. Worse still for the yellow-blacks: the Bolzano victory became a demonstration of power. More bite, more speed, more discipline, more class – the championship leader was superior to the third-to-last team that evening in all respects. The around 300 fans from the Pustertal also had to acknowledge this, who nevertheless loudly supported their team until the final siren.
