Holy Foxes don't move

There is no question that the Foxes have the player material to be at the top of the league this season, i.e. for the title. At the moment, however, the many individual experts are not acting as a unit - and so the current tenth place in the table comes as no surprise. The wheels didn't mesh together on Sunday either, and the result was a 3-5 defeat against the Bratislava Capitals.

The reasons for the recent HCB bankruptcy are varied. On the one hand, Kevin Boyle was once again not the support he had hoped for, but on the other hand, the defense didn't do much to support their goalie. Individual mistakes, inconsistent duel behavior and a system that was difficult to recognize led to five goals being conceded. In the attack, however, the stars around Brett Findlay, Dustin Gazley & Co. mostly did their own thing and seemed too playful in front of the goal. The fact that the fighters Daniel Frank, Luca Frigo and Domenic Alberga scored was emblematic of this needed evening.

At least the Foxes can console themselves with the fact that the season is still young and nothing is lost yet. But if they want to finish the regular season in the upper regions of the table - and especially want to be prepared for the derby against HC Pustertal on Tuesday - they need to turn things around as quickly as possible. The highlights Shocking start in the ice wave: 13 seconds after the puck was thrown in, Kevin Boyle let it ricochet forward, Denis Hudec was in the right position and slotted in without any problems. Bozen is having a hard time, but equalizes shortly after the start of the second third: Dan Catenacci hits the post from close range, and Domenic Alberga uses the follow-up shot. The joy quickly fades as Bratislava strikes twice within 53 seconds. Lukas Skvarek's pass hits an HCB skate that deflects the puck into the goal, while Luc Snuggerud punishes a hair-raising Miceli mistake. The HCB responded in the second third with a deflection from Daniel Frank and a follow-up shot from Luca Frigo. Number 93's goal came when the Foxes were twice as numerous. However, the home team was denied a lead: Tyler Nanne scored the winning goal with a shot from the blue line. Hudec secured the final point with an empty net hit.
