After a 4-0 lead: HCB embarrassed themselves against Innsbruck

Many of the fans had not yet taken their place in the ice wave when Marco Insam opened the scoring, which was to have a bitter end for HC Bozen that evening. When Andrew Crescenzi defeated Luka Gracnar, who had just been substituted, in the HCI goal after the restart and even made it 4-0, Bolzano's next home win seemed just a formality. But far from it! Suddenly the previously largely harmless Sharks went on the offensive, while the Foxes became increasingly inattentive. The result? Within six minutes the guests reduced the score to 3:4. At the latest after John Lammer's shot into the top corner - Innsbruck's third goal - there was a lot of fire in the game and the real derby mood arose for the first time in the Bolzano ice stadium. This reached its peak in the 33rd minute when Catenacci brought the fans out of their seats with his second goal and let the reeling HCB breathe a sigh of relief. Bolzano's defense was completely out of sorts However, the Innsbruck urge phase was only temporarily slowed down. The Bolzano backline continued to make mistakes and Boivin, who had moved up, reduced the score to 4:5 before the second break. Leland Irving didn't look good on his shot from the slot. However, the Canadian goalkeeper received hardly any support from those in front of him - on the contrary: in the 47th minute, Anton Bernard allowed himself to steal the target in front of the goal without any hindrance, his former Bolzano teammate Andrew Yogan gratefully accepted the gift and made it 5:5 out of.

But that wasn't enough: five minutes before the end, HCB defender Daniel Glira Yogan laid the target on, Irving was able to fend off his shot, but he was powerless to catch a follow-up shot from Andrew Clark. Now the way to victory was definitely paved for the Innsbruck team. The empty net hits from Boivin and Nick Ross ultimately ended the Tyrolean derby in a debacle for the HCB.
