Why Peter Hochkofler is now Austrian

“I won't put up with that. In the worst case scenario, I'll go to court," Peter Hochkofler rumbled in an interview with the daily newspaper Dolomiten a good year ago, after he had been considered a foreigner in the ICE Hockey League by league decision since June 2021. The “Hochkofler File” has been permanently closed for a few days now.

Until recently, Peter Hochkofler had two citizenships. In addition to his Italian passport, the Eppan native also held an Austrian passport. You can read why he is now Austrian and therefore counts as a local player at Red Bull Salzburg in the following S+ article.
